Students receive a flexible, personalized education online from certified South Carolina teachers, with no tuition or enrollment costs.

Elementary and Middle School | Grades K-8
Fall Transfer Enrollment — Students currently attending another school can apply during two-week transfer cycles beginning September 7, 2026.
Spring Semester Enrollment — Apply from November 30, 2026, through January 5, 2027, for a January 11 start.
High School | Grades 9-12
Fall Transfer Enrollment — Students currently attending another school can apply from September 7 through October 6, 2026.
Spring Semester Enrollment — Apply from November 2, 2026, through January 5, 2027, for a January 11 start.

Who can enroll at SCVCS?
SCVCS serves students in kindergarten through 12th grade who reside in South Carolina. Enrollment windows and requirements vary by grade level and application type.
Is there a cost to attend SCVCS?
SCVCS is a tuition-free public charter school. Students who receive a school-issued Chromebook are responsible for a $25 nonrefundable issuance fee. Other program-specific fees may apply.
Are classes taught by certified teachers?
Yes. SCVCS students learn online with certified South Carolina teachers who provide instruction, feedback, and academic support throughout the school year.
What does a typical school day look like?
Students participate in live, teacher-led instruction and complete assignments and activities online. Daily schedules and the level of parent involvement vary by grade level, with younger students typically requiring more support at home.
Will my child have opportunities to socialize?
Yes. Students can connect through clubs field trips, school events, eSports, and other activities throughout the year. Opportunities vary by grade level and may change annually. Participation in activities through a local school district depends on district availability and eligibility requirements.
Does SCVCS support students with IEPs or 504 Plans?
SCVCS works with eligible students and their families to provide services and accommodations outlined in their IEPs or 504 Plans. Contact the enrollment team to discuss your student's individual needs and available support.
Can my child transfer to SCVCS after the school year begins?
Eligible students may be able to transfer during one of SCVCS's designated Transfer Enrollment windows. Transfer students must be enrolled and actively attending another school and should remain enrolled until SCVCS approves their application and confirms their start date.
Does SCVCS offer GED or adult education programs?
No. SCVCS is a K-12 public charter school and does not offer GED preparation or programs for adults returning to complete their education.
